Pray. How many of us pray, during the day, when it is not convenient, and even unceasingly? It is a most difficult thing to do, and yet, the most powerful and useful thing we can do. Prayer opens the flow of our Relationship with the Father, when we can receive all things, and see clearly His work in others and in us. Prayer invites the Holy Spirit to talk to us, show us God’s plan, His will. If we do not pray, we see with our own eyes, listen with our own ears, do what we want to do. But, if we pray, we see and hear God, and do what He wants, and then we can please Him.
We are all just human, and what do we finally do, when all else has failed, when we have failed ourselves, and we are in a hopeless, miserable mess? We pray, because that is all we have left to do. Don’t cycle into prayer. Be prayer! Pray constantly, find reasons to pray, wake up praying, go to sleep praying, pray during the day at times when you have never prayed. Don’t wait to pray until you are in church, or where you normally pray. Pray when you are alone, with others, deep prayers, little prayers. What is prayer? There is no right way or wrong way to pray. God is your Father. Just start a conversation, that is prayer. Just talk to Him like He is your Daddy, the Father you always wanted.
The Father who really, really does Love you, with a Love that is unending and unconditional. Tell Him your needs, but also tell Him your heart. Above all, be honest, and pray, talk to Him until you can be totally honest. He knows the truth. He is waiting for us to be honest with Him. As we keep talking, He will show us how we can be that honest. Slowly and surely He will reveal to us who we really are, in His eyes, not others or our own. In our moment of salvation, when our Relationship with Him begins, we Trust, We have Faith in Him, to save us from our sins, and He does! But then, the Relationship must grow.
Trust is the basis of that Relationship, and we learn to Trust Him, really Trust Him for everything through what? PRAYER! If you start this, you will see God working in ways you have never noticed, but also be lead and counseled by the Holy Spirit on what to pray for. Do you want God to be alive in your life, always working? Pray! This is the truth, a truth that may be hard, difficult, work. God has rules, He is orderly, He created laws, both natural and spiritual. Prayer is the key to our Relationship with Him. It is how we communicate. It is how we connect. It is how spiritual battles are won and lost. Get in the spiritual game to win! The Holy Spirit responds to prayer. So pray, pray often and always.
