What does honesty not bring to life and heal? It’s like cool water in a stream flowing here and there and bringing freshness and life to whatever it touches. It heals whatever it touches, even the places it has not been for a while or ever, even the darkest crevice and the deepest parts. It relaxes the soul, calms the nerves, and brings to mind what was forgotten out of fear to recall. It is a safe place to be when everything else within you seems at war.
Honesty is like the water that cools your skin if you are hot and quenches the dry thirst. It humidifies your dry skin and cleans the dirt from your filthy crevices. When it is used it emulsifies your whole body, and brings to the surface that which was buried. Like an opinion it peels away the layers of denial and lies from the core of it, which is the truth.
Honesty is the decision that comes from the will of the soul. It is not the truth, but it’s the path to lead you there. And where is this path? What can I do to find it within me? Ask Jesus, He knows the way, He is the Way, because he knows you far better than you know yourself.

The Father helps us with His Holy Spirit, to peel back the first layer of that onion, once we are willing to make the effort. Then, with each layer peeled the anxiety of worry gets less and less. It is replaced with hope that a burden will be lifted and a guilt removed. Shame and regret will be shown the door to leave. As healing appears on the horizon, with the first scent of it being real and possible, the heart will wonder why this effort was avoided for so long. The Living Word of God , the Holy Spirit, the Truth will be seen and heard by eyes scared over and ears stuffed with tissues of lies. Honesty will become a friend once thought to be an enemy. Once in the last seat of the last house, it moves to the front row of your life, encouraged to be a part of all you think and do. Forgiving yourself becomes possible and talking to God becomes something you long for. Truth is no longer something to be feared but welcomed . Like the cool stream, you take off your socks and shoes and wade in it, and then soon you wonder into the deep and swim in it, even emerge your whole self as in a baptism of truth.
Being honest is a sacred place in your heart, where nothing else can exist. It is the center of centers in you. Its where all your most cherished beliefs live. It is also where the darkest sin lives. You may not want to show it to anyone, even yourself, but you can show God. Being honest is scary, make us anxious, requires courage. It is something you will need to prompt yourself to do, on your own. No one makes us be honest, in fact the world assumes you will not be. Its more the exception than the norm. So what will, it take for you to be honest? A trauma, loneliness, a broken relationship, poor health, or that black swan that comes on us tragically and unexpectedly? Whatever the motivation, healing starts when you let God in you, and you let Him begin to remove the darkness that lives in your most honest place. The Father only listens to honest words , He only loves the honest heart, He only gives when honesty accepts, He fills with His love where honesty creates a void, He forgives the honest sin, He only makes his home in the honestly repented soul that is humble, trusting, surrendered, and has complete faith in Him. If you Trust God completely, He will make you completely trustworthy. Imagine that, being able to trust yourself in any situation and circumstance, even those that you fell to temptation before? God can do all that, if you let Him. So, I ask you today, have you HONESTLY asked him to be Lord of your life? Why wait one moment longer? Do that today.
